I have a previously purchased [not from this vendor] Olevia which proved to be so satisfactory that I wanted another. Do not, absolutely not ever, buy from this vendor. I contacted Amazon for help and am still waiting. I haven't a clue about this Olevia product. I waited and waited and waited and waited for the whole, total, entire month of October and it never came. I really did want this Olevia and haven't the words to truly express my complete, thorough and utter disappointment.
Well yes it does seem to work well. I believe enough said as the company who sold it tried to get extra money for a better conditioned one. I purchased this in the belief that it would work and look as good as new. But the drawback is looks and it has tha appearance of being old and tired.
If anyone knows one that will.post it please. For the price of LCD TV's today, look to one of the major brands.it is not worth the hassle unless you need a cheap TV. I have changed the batteries twice and still nothing. It just stopped. I have not had too many issues, but there are two major problems.the hum from the speakers is unreal, especially when the volume is turned down. it was a great price at the time and it works perfectly in the master bedroom.where it gets about 45 mintues of use a day in the morning.and occassionally when I am in bed sick or playing insomnia boy. The second issue is that the remote stopped working. The bad part is, I cannot find ANY universal remotes that will work with it.
I contacted Olevia, or Syntax Brillian and they said they would replace it right away, But it took two weeks just to get the return lable and that was by email. I have called 2 dozen times since but they usually just hang up after making you listen to the same Kenny G song for a half hour or more.
Wight 26th and they promised to have it shipped no later than Wednesday the 28th along with a email confirming shipment, two days later and hours more of Kenny G and I'm still waiting.
I finally got through to someone this past Monday Nov. Gerald S.
I bought this tv around the first of October and used it for two weeks, then suddenly the screen was filled with colored lines and I couldn't get a picture. After I shipped it back they promised to send the new replacement no later than November 12th, but no TV.
If you have $500 to throw away, dump it in the stock market, that way at least you'll have a nice certifcate, if you buy Olevia you end up with nothing.
Olevia customer support suspects it's a bad main board which costs almost as much as a new monitor. Cannot recommend. Worked fine as our desktop monitor then at 18 months colors went haywire. Will pay a little more for reliability next time.
